Areas of Need

Ascension DePaul Foundation supports the work of Ascension DePaul Services New Orleans as they provide high-quality primary and preventive care to the community. More than 65% of our patient population is uninsured, underinsured, or working poor and pay for services through a sliding scale fee system. Based on the high number of individuals who are uninsured, the Foundation relies on the support of the community to continue to provide compassionate health care to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. The following areas are in need of financial support.

Diabetic Institute

Diabetes is a preventable disease that has a devastating effect on Louisianians.  10% of our patients suffer from type II diabetes. Our structured diabetes prevention program uses a shared-visits model to give patients the tools, resources, and education needed to effectively manage their diabetes. A gift in support of the Diabetic Institute will go a long way in helping our patients live healthier lives.

Senior Smiles - Dental Services for Seniors

Senior Smiles - Dental Services for Seniors Program sees over 5000 patients annually. On the average our patients have not seen a dentist in several years and requires a combination of services that are cost prohibitive. Although we offer a sliding fee scale for financially needy patients, completing a dental treatment plan is still too expensive for most.  Often times there no dental coverage and the costs associated with lack of coverage for seniors, as well as costs associated with underinsured seniors, i.e. procedures not covered by their insurance companies are an economic challenge. A gift in support of Dental Services for Seniors Program will go a long way in helping our patients have healthy smiles.

Seton Medication Fund
Ascension DePaul Services of New Orleans provides financial support for patients who are unable to afford prescription medications. A significant barrier to good health for individuals living below the poverty line is accessing expensive prescription medications, especially for chronic illnesses. The Seton Medication Fund serves as a lifeline for these patients so they can take control of their health and follow-through with their care plan.
